Tundra Swans Taking Off

  Tundra Swans Taking Off

The Tundra Swan, Cygnus columbianus, is one of two native American swan species. It breeds in the northern part of Canada and Alaska and mates for life. In late February and early March each year, thousands gather at the Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area in Pennsylvania preparing for the long flight to their nesting grounds.
